EYES-SL Poultry Project is part of our social business that has specific social objectives for our community that serve its primary purpose. As a social enterprise we seek to maximize profits while maximizing benefits to our local community and the environment. The profits are principally used to fund social programs.
The outbreak of COVID-19 brought communities huge hardship that results to increase in violence among women and young girls in Bo district, Sierra Leone.
As it is reported by the International Rescues Committed (IRC),
this overall picture is a fact brought to sunshine by the research in five communities in Bo district, Kakua chiefdom Samaie section. These five communities are Geoma one, Falla, Falaba, Manihum Gbomgboma and Gbougbu.
The research was focused on accessing the income level of young single mothers and their economic activity. The research result proves that there is huge economic brake down among young people in Bo district, which led to the increase in violence and anti-social behavior in the society which need urgent attention.
The Leone Poultry is a social agaric- business enterprise. It has made only modest contribution to the local food production but can play a vital role in the district. It can be a profitable business and thus aims to be a good source of cheap, palatable and nutritious food protein. In our local environment it ensures trust as it is helping empower young people to rebuild their economy status; through joy creation, creating new market and straighten single mother to empower their children in the society and prevent anti-social behavior among young people.
Leone Poultry with it holistic vision of reaching the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2,3 and 1 Zero hunger, Gender Equality and No poverty respectively by 2025 in these community.
